Open Roles

New Board Members

The Institute for Research on Male Supremacism (IRMS) is seeking applicants to join our board of directors to lead and support our organization. We are a small, primarily volunteer organization that is able to have a significant impact through our network of dozens of fellows and mentees based globally. Our volunteer board is a semi-working board, composed both of board members that support specific elements of IRMS operations and of members that focus on strategic oversight and board cultivation. The Board meets virtually, and as a transnational organization we accept candidates located anywhere.

We are currently particularly interested in candidates to support the following areas:

  • Finance

  • Fundraising

  • Communications

  • Legal

  • Strategic planning

  • Board development

In addition, IRMS hopes to bring on a volunteer co-executive director to our Board in 2024.

Please view our listing on Idealist for more information and how to apply.

Fellowship and Mentorship Programs: Special Stipend for Women and Trans POC Researchers

Though a primarily volunteer organization and community, thanks to a grant from CGRE, IRMS is excited to be able to offer a few special stipends of $1000 to support participation from trans and cis women of color, trans men of color, and nonbinary people of color in our fellowship and mentorship programs. We will be accepting fellow and mentee applications for this stipend until December 17, 2024.

Please visit the respective mentorship and fellowship program tabs on this website for information about how to apply.

Institute for Research on Male Supremacism Intern

The Institute for Research on Male Supremacism (IRMS) accepts paid interns for 5 to 10 hours per week. We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in learning about and challenging male supremacist and misogynist mobilizations. The intern will provide support in a variety of areas as needs arise, including supporting the website, social media, graphic design, editing/copyediting, fundraising, and other tasks. The position pays $15/hour, is remote and open to applicants from any country.

To apply, please send a resume and cover letter to contact@theirms.org with the subject line “Internship Application [Your Name].” Please indicate in your cover letter your available start and end dates.
